Distinguish Healthy Tongue and not as well as keeping it clean


Brushing my teeth twice a day is not enough if the tongue is not cleaned directly. Often, problems such as bad breath is not savoury originated from the cleanliness of the tongue that is not guarded. Healthy tongue also is a key to oral health.
Healthy tongue apparently indicated that the condition of the body is also in good health. Healthy tongue is generally pink surface covered with irregular nodule called papillae.

The Various Colors Of The Tongue

Observe the various changes the color of the tongue is as follows.
Tongue speckled white or completely white can be an indication of:
    Yeast infection of the mouth.
Yeast infection that seemed to resemble the white patch is most often experienced by people experiencing a weakening of the immune system, infants and the elderly, particularly users of false teeth. So are people who are taking antibiotics, diabetes patients, or patients with heart disease and asthma who use corticosteroids breathe.
Oral Lichen planus.
The white line on the surface of the tongue that looks similar to lace. The cause is not always known for certain and may subside by itself.
White patches on the tongue and the inside of the mouth due to the growth of cells that were too excessive. Leukoplakia often occurs when the tongue is being irritated, as in smokers.
Red tongue can be a sign of :
  • Geographic tounge: reddish spots resembling a map on the surface of the tongue.
  • Vitamin deficiency. A deficiency of vitamin B12 and folic acid, it can cause a reddish colored tongue.
  • Scarlet fever. Also known as scarlet fever, i.e. infection and high fever with symptoms such as red Strawberry tongue, as well as a rash on the body and throat pain.
  • Kawasaki Disease. Dangerous diseases at toddler who is characterized by a high fever which is also accompanied by symptoms such as red Strawberry tongue.
Black Hairy tongue:
  • Even though it looks creepy, but the condition of the tongue is actually harmless. In some people, the tongue nodule grow too long, so that it becomes a place of growing the bacteria that cause the tongue is dark colored and looks like a furry.
  • This condition can also occur in people who undergo chemotherapy, taking antibiotics, and that does not maintain oral hygiene.
Wavy or tongue pain:

· Smoking can cause irritation and pain in the tongue.
· Canker sores that may grow worse because of increased stress levels or at the time of                       menstruation.
· Injury as a result of eating the food that overheat or accidentally bite your tongue.
· Certain diseases such as oral cancer or diabetes and anemia.

Keeping Healthy Tongue

Uneven surface of the tongue make this organ more risky storing bacteria so it needs to be rubbed. A dentist revealed that even though it looks flat, the actual surface of the tongue has a gap and difference in height, so that it can become a place of lurking bacteria.
The bacteria in question can be derived from a group of microorganisms that can form a layer on the surface of the tongue. Gargle with an antiseptic liquid will only lift the bacteria on the outer layer and not completely eradicate germs.

So tongue remains healthy, Brush it teeth twice a day every day, including brushing your tongue. Avoid smoking and consuming of alcoholic beverages, as well as limit the consumption of food which is too hot, sour, and spicy.
To keep healthy, stay awake tongue brush the tongue from front to back and left to right, then gargle with clean water. However, avoid brushing the tongue too hard. You can also try to use the surface of the tongue scraper is sold in drug stores, but in general the brushing of the tongue using a regular toothbrush is enough.
